It’s Saturday!! Hello everyone!
This post is in the form of a question. How Bad do you want it?
Ive been asked on several occasions about how I found and still find the motivation to be consistent especially on those tough training days. When I thought about it, it all came down to how bad I wanted it. My desire!
See, I’ve done weight loss plans before and have even been relatively successful before, but something would always happen to where I would stop and go back the opposite way. So in a self examination of myself, I realized that not only was self control needed, but I had to figure out how bad I really wanted it, and after visiting the doctor and looking into the mirror, I wanted it more than ever.
For me it started with setting an end goal. In other words, what am I trying to accomplish and what do I expect when I’m finished. Once that was established, I have been focused on reaching that goal.
Sometimes we can see someone doing well and it may motivate us some to get in the gym, but we have to build on that motivation in order to increase my own desire to do something different with regards to my weight.
I’ve talked to some who have reached out to me and I have expressed to them that they have to find what drives them. They have to find their own source of inspiration that will make them want it really bad.
For me this go round it wasn’t hard. I looked at my beautiful wife and children and refuse to not work hard to take care of myself. You see, for me, the love I have for them makes me want this change of life really bad! It drives me!
For you it may be something else, but the point is find something. In my experience, the process of losing weight has been 80% mental. I give it a high percentage because if you don’t condition your mind, you won’t eat right, you won’t exercise etc…
Therefore, it starts with making your mind up to do something different and them acting on it. This was the case with me despite family and friends urging me to be healthy.
So remember, it takes a little time to change a way of thinking. But take it one step at a time knowing that changed thinking leads to other changes. Then….before you know it you have results!
So to all those who want and desire to lose weight. You can do it! But make sure your mind is focused on making it happen!
Remember… You’re stronger than you think you are!
